Tech-Bond products are engineered to bond a wide range of materials including PTFE (Teflon), HDPE, Delrin (POM), silicone rubber, nylon, polypropylene, metal, wood, and composites. The Poly Prep adhesion promoter is specifically designed as a pre-treatment for low surface energy polymers that are typically considered unbondable.

SI Blue is a standard thin-medium viscosity suitable for general bonding tasks. SI Black is thicker and provides greater application control, ideal for precision or overhead work. SI Green is ultra-thin and formulated specifically for wicking into and repairing hairline cracks where other viscosities cannot penetrate effectively.

For most polymer substrates — especially low surface energy materials like HDPE, PTFE, nylon, and polypropylene — Poly Prep adhesion promoter is strongly recommended as a pre-treatment. It etches the surface to create the texture needed for a strong, permanent bond. Metal and composite surfaces may not require this step.

All Tech-Bond bonding agents and kits have extended shelf life when stored in a refrigerator. Before use, the product should be brought back to room temperature. Proper refrigerated storage is recommended for both individual components and complete kits to maintain optimal performance and usability over time.

Yes. The Tech-Bond Filler — a silica sand compound — cures to a rock-hard mass when used in combination with a Bonding Agent. Once cured, it can be drilled, tapped, sanded, and painted, making it suitable for structural repairs, gap filling, and finishing applications across metal, wood, and composite substrates.

The Deluxe Kit and Professional Kit are both designed for professional use. The Deluxe Kit includes Bonding Agent, Accelerator, Poly Prep, and Filler for complete repair capability. The Professional Kit adds a Debonder for full lifecycle bonding control and is recommended for engineers, prototypers, and industrial technicians working with challenging materials like Delrin, PTFE, and HDPE.
