Polymer Bonding Agents & Adhesives

For difficult-to-bond polymers such as PTFE, HDPE, nylon, and polypropylene, Tech-Bond's SI Bonding Agents — available in three viscosities (SI Blue, SI Black, SI Green) — are specifically engineered solutions. When combined with Poly Prep surface preparation and an Activator/Accelerator, they form a complete system that delivers permanent molecular-level bonds on materials that standard adhesives cannot handle.

SI Blue is a standard thin-medium viscosity suitable for general-purpose bonding. SI Black is a thicker formulation offering greater control for precision or overhead applications. SI Green is ultra-thin, specifically engineered to wick into and repair hairline cracks. Selecting the correct viscosity is critical to achieving optimal bond strength for your specific repair or assembly task.

For low surface energy polymers — including HDPE, PTFE, silicone rubber, nylon, and polypropylene — Poly Prep adhesion promoter is an essential pre-treatment step. It chemically etches the surface to create the ideal texture for strong, permanent adhesion. Skipping this step on difficult substrates significantly reduces bond strength and long-term durability.

The Professional Kit includes an SI Bonding Agent (choice of Blue, Black, or Green), Poly Prep surface preparation, an Activator/Accelerator, Filler for gap reinforcement, and a Debonder for clean removal if needed. All Tech-Bond SI Bonding Agents and kit components should be stored in a refrigerator to achieve the longest possible shelf life. Before use, bring the product back to room temperature to ensure optimal viscosity and performance. Proper storage is especially important for the ultra-thin SI Green formula used in hairline crack repair applications.
