TPRS Stands for the Tech Patch Repair System
The benefit of the Tech Patch Repair System is that it generates an exothermic chemical reaction thats bonds either a Tech Patch or one or more layers of Tech Wrap to the damaged pipe or tank. Since 2017, TPRS has had over a 99% success rate. A notable success story is the testing that was done by engineers from the Borouge Company in Abu Dhabi. Four inch diameter, SDR 11 HDPE pipe with Tech Patches applied to it was subjected prssure of 1800 psi for over 100 hours. Finally, the pipe blew. Not the patches. Of note, the pipe was pressure rated at approximately 350 pounds.

How TPRS Will Help Miners and Enhance Careers
-
Reduces exposure to dangerous repair work: Tech Patches and Wraps make field repairs faster and safer, minimizing time spent near pressurized, leaking, or deteriorating infrastructure.
-
Empowers miners with high-demand skills: Mastery of the Polymer Bonding Process can turn a labor role into a specialized, respected position. Certified technicians can train others and advance into supervisory or training roles.
-
Increases equipment uptime: With long-lasting repairs, operations flow more smoothly—less crisis repair, more planned work, and fewer overnight shifts.
-
Eliminates guesswork: TPRS simplifies decisions—if a pipe or tank is leaking, a Tech Patch or Wrap can permanently fix it without engineering redesign or composite layups.
At Tech-Bond, we don’t sell you products—we offer you solutions that work in your world. You know the stress of pipe failures. We bring you a permanent fix that you can apply yourself, in the field, quickly and safely. Our goal is to keep your shift productive, your tools reliable, and your career respected. We’re not here to replace what works—we’re here to upgrade it.
Problems that occur in a slurry pool.
1. Leaks in Slurry Lines and Transfer Pipes
-
Cause: Erosion from abrasive slurry flow, especially at bends, joints, and welds.
-
TPRS Solution: Tech Wraps can be applied directly over compromised steel or HDPE pipes—even under wet conditions after surface prep—sealing leaks and restoring strength without shutdown.
2. Wall and Floor Cracks in Containment Pools
-
Cause: Ground movement, vibration from heavy machinery, chemical corrosion.
-
TPRS Solution: Tech Patches can be applied to concrete, HDPE, poly liners, or coated metal. They bond permanently to seal cracks and prevent seepage into the surrounding environment.
3. Tank or Pool Wall Penetrations and Seepage Points
-
Cause: Improper seals at pipe inlets/outlets or deterioration over time.
-
TPRS Solution: A combination of Poly Fill and Tech Patch creates a chemical- and abrasion-resistant seal, stopping seepage where gaskets or epoxy sealants fail.
4. Poly Liner Failures
-
Cause: Tears, punctures, or UV degradation in poly liners (HDPE, LDPE, or PVC).
-
TPRS Solution: TPRS bonds directly to all poly surfaces without flame or plasma prep. The patch becomes part of the liner and flexes with it, preventing re-tearing.
5. Abrasion Zones in Slurry Settling Areas
-
Cause: High velocity of solids grinding against fixed surfaces.
-
TPRS Solution: Layered Tech Wraps act as sacrificial armor. When applied in multiple layers, the outer layers can absorb damage over time while the bonded structure holds integrity.
6. Emergency Patch Needs in Remote Areas
-
Cause: Limited access to welders, epoxy repair kits, or trained composite teams.
-
TPRS Solution: TPRS is field-ready, requires minimal training, and cures quickly with light heat application—even from sunlight or a heat gun.
