Engagement, Experience, Execution
IIT (ISM) and Tech-Bond Global are united by the principles of Engagement, Experience, and Execution—applied with precision to deliver meaningful, measurable impact in the mining industry and across a wide range of global sectors. By engaging directly with individual organizations to identify real-world challenges, leveraging decades of academic and field-proven expertise, and executing targeted solutions through structured training, rigorous testing, and practical deployment, this partnership ensures that every interaction translates into lasting improvements in productivity, maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency.
To scale effectively across the mining industry, IIT, ISM and Tech-Bond Global Center of Excellence must build an integrated pipeline of validation, training, and field execution. IIT, ISM will conduct third-party performance testing, develop field application standards, and issue certifications based on a four-tier system for Tech-Bond’s repair systems, as follows:
Four Levels of Certifdication
Basic Application (TPRS for poly tanks and HDPE lines),
Advanced Pipe & Pressure Repair,
Industrial Systems & Safety, and
Master Trainer Certification.
Tech-Bond Global will expand its Services Division and Operations and Distribution Centers to deliver onsite repair, support institutional adoption, and manufacture volume-based Industrial Kits. Together, the partnership must certify thousands of technicians—including at least 1,000 Master-Certified Process Specialists—to lead field teams across India and other high-demand countries. Globally, the deployment of TPRS across the mining sector is projected to reduce infrastructure maintenance and repair expenses by 25%, translating to billions in long-term savings for public and private sector operators. With the Tech-Bond Center at IIT, ISM as its launchpad, this collaboration is positioned to become the world leader in high-performance infrastructure repair.
Conclusion
The global pipe repair marketplace—especially for HDPE pipe—has long operated in a vacuum, lacking truly effective, standardized repair methodologies, especially for HDPE pipe. Despite HDPE’s widespread use in mining, water transport, and infrastructure, repair efforts have been plagued by improvised solutions and non-permanent fixes. Composite wraps, while widely used, offer no precision or consistency; they can be applied in nearly any fashion, leaving outcomes variable and unreliable. This lack of rigor has resulted in a field with no clear industry standards or regulatory benchmarks to guide safe and lasting repairs.
This gap is precisely where the partnership between IIT (ISM) Dhanbad and Tech-Bond Global is positioned to lead. Through the establishment of the Tech-Bond Center of Excellence (CoE), this collaboration is not only introducing a repeatable, science-driven repair system for HDPE and other pipe materials—it is building the foundation for standardization across the industry. The Polymer Bonding Process (PBP), central to Tech-Bond’s repair technology, introduces the precision, reliability, and performance that composite wraps simply cannot deliver. With laboratory validation and field testing guided by IIT (ISM)’s scientific rigor, the path to international credibility is already underway.
The certifications developed through the CoE, reinforced by ASTM, API, and other global standards bodies, will finally provide what the industry has lacked: dependable repair protocols, structured training programs, and performance metrics. Together, IIT (ISM) and Tech-Bond Global are not only solving a longstanding technical problem—they are establishing the standards that will define the future of pipe repair worldwide.
