High-Viscosity Structural Bonding Agent for TPRS™

SI Black™ is Tech-Bond’s high-viscosity bonding agent engineered for applications where gap-filling capability and structural reinforcement are required.

Within the Tech Patch Repair System (TPRS™), SI Black plays a critical role in building the reinforced bonding matrix that secures the PTFE-coated E-glass fabric to the pipe or tank surface. Its higher viscosity allows the bonding agent to remain precisely where it is applied while providing excellent control during layer-by-layer construction of the repair.

When activated with Tech-Bond’s catalyst and warmed to initiate the controlled exothermic reaction, SI Black forms part of a cross-linked structural network that integrates the reinforcement layers into a single bonded structure.

The result: a permanent repair capable of restoring structural integrity to both steel and HDPE systems.

Role in the Tech Patch Repair System (TPRS™)

Within TPRS™, SI Black is used to:

• build the structural adhesive layers
• secure PTFE-coated E-glass reinforcement
• create the bonding matrix between layers
• help produce the final integrated repair structure

Once the catalyst is applied and the repair is warmed to approximately 117–120°F, an exothermic reaction begins that completes the cross-linking process.

The resulting bond becomes part of a continuous structural network integrated with the reinforcement layers and the pipe substrate.
