Poly Kits with SI Black give you everything you need to create strong, clean bonds on hard-to-bond surfaces—such as PTFE, nylon, silicone rubber, HDPE, and polypropylene. Each kit includes our thick-viscosity SI Black Bonding Agent (100 cP), Poly Prep to prepare polymer surfaces, and our essential catalyst, the Activator/Accelerator.
The thicker SI Black formula gives you more control, especially when precision matters. It can fill most small gaps, though polymers generally do not gap fill well—so gap filling is not recommended.
Uses
Use SI Black on polymers, plastics, metal, rubber, composites, vinyl, and even porcelain. First, Poly Prep etches polymer surfaces at the molecular level. Then, when combined with a low level of heat, the Accelerator initiates an exothermic chemical reaction that drives the Polymer Bonding Process (Process).
As a result, the bonds are permanent. They resist stress, heat, weathering, moisture, and most chemicals. SI Black also works well on vertical, sloped, or slightly uneven surfaces.
