Tech-Bond | Independent Testing & Performance Validation

Documented evidence through Independent Testing of polymer bonding, structural repair, thermal resistance and environmental durability.

Over the last ten years, Tech-Bond, our patented Polymer Bonding Process and the Tech Patch Repair System (TPRS™) have undergone extensive independent testing across a remarkably diverse range of materials, applications and operating conditions.

The results speak for themselves.

From bonding traditionally difficult polymers and dissimilar substrates to withstanding extreme pressure, elevated temperatures, accelerated aging and prolonged corrosive exposure, Tech-Bond has consistently demonstrated exceptional performance.

Independent testing by respected institutions and laboratories, combined with years of practical field applications, has repeatedly validated the effectiveness of our technology.

These results represent more than the performance of an industrial adhesive. They demonstrate the value of an entirely different approach to bonding—one that begins with understanding and engineering the interface between materials.

Performance Validation

Tested Under Demanding Conditions. Supported by Documented Results.

ISO 1167 & ISO 13478 Pressure Testing

ISO 1167 & ISO 13479 Testing on HDPE pipe. Withstood 1800 psi for over 100 hours

As the picture shows, when failure occurred, the pipe blew out, TPRS™, the patches, did not fail.

Polymer Bonding Performance

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

HDPE-to-PTFE bonding tested at temperatures reaching 110°C. The HDPE deformed while the bonded interface remained intact under the reported test conditions.

Immersion testing

Evaluating the Resistance of Bonded Materials to Prolonged Liquid Exposure
Immersion testing is a method used to evaluate how a material, coating, adhesive, or bonded assembly performs when continuously submerged in a liquid for a specified period.
The purpose is to determine whether prolonged exposure to water, chemicals, oils, fuels, or other liquids causes deterioration, swelling, softening, loss of adhesion, or structural failure.

Immersion testing

There was no:

  • Delamination or separation at the bonded interface.

  • Moisture or chemical penetration.

  • Swelling, blistering, cracking, or discoloration.

  • Changes in mechanical strength or material properties.

  • Loss of adhesion or deterioration of the bonding system.

HDPE Pressure Testing

Borouge — 4-inch SDR11 HDPE

ISO 1167 & ISO 13478 Pressure Testing
  • Reported pressure: 1,800 psi, which it withstood for over 100 hours.

  • Failure occurred outside the repaired area.

  • Demonstrates the repaired section’s performance under the particular test conditions.

Environmental Durability

MEi — ASTM B117 Salt Spray Exposure

B-117 Salt Spray Test - 1000 hours - No moisture instrusion, creep or delamination

1,000-hour steel-wrap exposure.

Reported observations:

  • No delamination.

  • No visible rust.

  • No blistering.

  • No observed creep.

Interface Strength and Material Performance

IIT (ISM) Tribology Testing

PTFE-coated E-glass testing in which fabric fibers failed before the bonded interface.
This is particularly relevant to our development of Intelligent Interface Engineering™.

Tribology Testng

TRIBOLOGY & WEAR TESTING — IIT (ISM) DHANBAD

Independent testing demonstrated that Tech-Bond’s bonded interface maintained its integrity under mechanical stress. The E-glass reinforcement fibers failed before separation occurred at the bonded interface.
The significance: Under the conditions tested, the bonded interface was not the weakest component of the reinforced system.
This finding supports the mechanical integrity of Tech-Bond’s Polymer Bonding Process™ and its application in composit
e reinforcement systems.
