Fire Tanker with a Cracked Tank | Tech Patch Repair System (TPRS™)
Patch-on-a-Patch – Foam Fire Tanker Commercial Application

The tanker above had a crack in a foam tank. With commercial applications, we apply two layers of patch

The above crack is in a somewhat difficult area. The key when applying TPRS™ is to avoid folds and wrinkles. The patch, especially the first layers of patch, must lie flat. Water and foam do not present the challenges that fuels (gasoline, diesel, high test fuel) do. For water tanks and pipes, one patch layer is more than sufficient, except for commercial applications. For gas tanks, two layers is recommended, especially when there is a hole.

The second patch can cover the entirety of the first patch or can just cover the ends of the first patch layer. Either way provides the additional protection needed. At time, you will need to make cuts into the top patch so that it lies flat.
Poly Shield
The Poly Shield seals the patch. To create the Poly Shield you apply three layers of our Bonding Agent. To generate each layer run beads of our industrial adhesive , SI Black, a half inch apart over the entire surface area of the patch AND on the edges. Spread the Bonding Agent over the entire patch. Again three coats are needed.
