Mini-Pack – A repair solution for plastic and metal pipe and tanks

Rolling Mini-Pack Cart

Truck depots, bus depots, fleet maintenance garages, NARSA shops, plumbers and any business who regularly has tanks and pipes that need to be repaired, you have found your cost savings solution – Mini-Packs!

Rolling Mini-Pack cart

Having a cart to store the various sizes of patches and wraps makes life easier.  The PTFE coated e-glass fabric comes in rolls of various width and lengths.  You cut the patch to fit the problem.

We often get calls from  consumers who tell us that a replacement tank is not available and that they don’t want to be forced to buy a new plastic gas tank, a new plastic overflow tank, or a new plastic potable water tank.

The Tech Patch Repair System (TPRS™) will permanently repair holes and cracks in plastic tanks.  Regardless, if the plastic tank is a gas tank, a water tank, an overflow tank, a chemical tank or plastic or metal pipes, our PTFE coated e-glass patches and wraps will seal the damaged area, saving consumers hundreds of dollars.

Products used to apply Tech-Patches and Tech Wraps

The products and materials shown are the tools technicians will be trained to use when applying Tech Patches™ and Tech Wraps™. Training will cover damage assessment, proper surface preparation, and the precise application of Poly Prep™, Activator/Accelerator, the appropriate Tech-Bond bonding agent, and PTFE-coated E-glass reinforcement. Technicians will also learn the correct use of pressure and controlled heat, along with final repair inspection. Because successful repairs depend on precision at every interface, participants will learn more than how to use a kit—they will learn a repeatable, engineered process for creating strong, permanent repairs to damaged plastic and metal pipes and tanks.

Tech Patch Kit
HDPE Pipe Repair

Over the last ten years, replacement costs … if you can find a replacement tank … have, in many cases, doubled. Wages for the average worker have not doubled. More and more people will be looking for an alternative to replace simply because they can’t really afford a new tank … and they don’t need one. TPRS™ has well over a 90% success rate on repairing plastic … and metal … tanks.  If it’s a water tank, the success rate is 100%.  Not a bad average.

If a Tech-Patch is applied to a plastic gas tank with precision, the success rate is very close to 100%. Beyond tanks, pipes can be repair, HDPE pipes, steel pipes, copper pipes, PEX pipes, cast iron pipes, PVC pipes can all be easily repaired at a reasonable cost.

Plumbers

Plumbers routinely encounter cracked plastic pipes, leaking tanks, failed fittings and difficult connections that conventional adhesives and epoxies cannot repair reliably. TPRS™ gives plumbers a professional repair system capable of bonding polymers to themselves, to other polymers and to many dissimilar materials. Instead of forming a rigid mechanical attachment that may crack or separate as the pipe flexes, TPRS creates a strong, durable repair that works with the characteristics of the original material. It can help save discontinued tanks, hard-to-replace components and installations where replacement would require extensive demolition, excavation or downtime.

Every plumber should keep a TPRS Mini-Pack™ in the service vehicle. It provides the materials needed to complete smaller pipe, tank and fitting repairs without purchasing a full-size professional system. One successful repair can save a customer hundreds—or thousands—of dollars while giving the plumber a valuable new service and an additional source of revenue. When replacement is difficult, expensive or impossible, the plumber equipped with a TPRS Mini-Pack has another answer: repair it instead of replacing it.

The only real option for plastic gas tank
Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2026

Incredible. Unique product and 100% worth the cost. Used to repair 1/2” hole drilled near bottom of my truck’s 30 gal fuel tank. 5 weeks in, several fuel fills, some thermal cycling, and many road miles: zero issues. Avoided thousands in repair costs and extended down time (new tanks not available for this truck). If you can follow directions closely and work carefully, this is a great option.

Details: This kit will work best (easiest) on a flat/near flat surface. This repair was in a “saddle” area (complex geometry) and I was barely able to work the patch to conform and maintain the 1” margin. I didn’t fully warm the area to be patched before applying the patch in an effort to gain a bit more open (working) time to shape the patch onto the curved surface. That helped. Also recommend a variety of plastic scapers or trim tools on hand to work the patch on better vs the throwaway tool included in the kit. The throwaway tool is prob fine for a fully accessible, flat surfaces. Pay attention to the prep and be meticulous. I used acetone to clean after prep before proceeding. Highly recommend having everything close at hand, especially if working under a vehicle—time is not your friend once you’re into the repair itself. note/ One of the chem dispensers in my kit leaked despite being shipped with extra sealing tape…barely had enough to complete my ~2”x2” patch. Good for me but check your kit before getting too far in.

    Good performance

Products work very well together but the worst thing is that when I’ve got it delivered my poly prep leaked mostly out. I just had enough to get the job done properly. The chemical bonds with the patch works 💯 perfect like it intended to do. I’m thankful to come across tech bonds polyethylene patch for fuel tanks, I have 26.1 gallon tank on my Tahoe and it fixed the problem with 💯 accuracy, I highly recommend this to everyone who needs a fuel tank fixed on their vehicle or any machinery.

    Finally something that works!
Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2026

I don’t write product review often, but this product definitely deserves one.

About 3 months ago something in the highway punctured my HDPE gas tank. I tried to patch it using JB and other epoxy products, just to have the leak appear back often 3-4 weeks later. Thanks God I found this kit.

This product is not joke. The SI glue is thick and workable, but when it comes in contact with the activator/accelerator the reaction is instant. I followed the instructions and the patch to the gas tank came out perfect.

Customer service is great. Had a question before hand, left my number and got a call literally a minute after. This product work perfect for me.

Advanced Bonding where Glue Won’t do it
Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2025

I am a fan of this stuff – I suspect some of the other reviews may not be using it properly (applying heat) or preparing the surfaces thoroughly, it has worked fantastic for me. I originally ordered to repair a discontinued leak in an Audi fuel tank filler neck, that is made from HDPE. Doing my research that nothing else will work on this I used TechBond, and almost the entire content of the SI advesive with the patch and plussing, and my check engine light for EVAP leak has been gone for the last 2 years. I even painted over it and its better than factory. I ordered another kit to have on hand as I am in Canada and never know when I might need to repair something, sure enough our washer had a tear on the sealing gasket and leaked water on the floor. I warmed and prepped the area followed the instructions and its sealed back up and almost impossible to see with the eye – never leaked again and its stayed flexible unlike any kind of glue which would add material and dry to a hard inflexible state. Recently I went to fill a cup with ice on my Frigidaire fridge, and the ice maker paddle broke off, taking it apart the plastic housing broke at a steel hinge pin location. The fridge is from 2008 and the part is no longer available. I grabbed the last of my tech bond, and used this with careful surface prep and lots of clamping force to rebond the broken off mounting point, and plussed the area around for added strength. It setup rock solid and I was able to reassemble immediately, and its been working better than it ever has since. This stuff saved me $1500 for fuel filler neck and $2000 for a new fridge, there would be no way to fix these things like this and put them back into service immediately. I use super glue for things that aren’t that important, but bond the things that can’t be replaced. Read the instructions, and know what the material is that you are bonding, and do the surface prep, there is nothing else like it. The TechBond website I found difficult to use so I ordered more product to have on hand, it was easier to just reach out to them directly. Thanks
