Industrial and Infrastructure Markets

Industrial & Infrastructure

Repair More. Replace Less. Keep Critical Assets Working.

Industrial facilities and infrastructure operators face a difficult economic reality: aging assets, rising replacement costs, limited maintenance budgets and increasing pressure to avoid operational interruptions. A damaged pipe, tank, production component or structural interface can create costs far beyond the damaged material itself. Shutdowns, lost production, excavation, replacement equipment, specialized labor, environmental exposure and emergency response can turn a relatively small failure into a major financial event.

Tech-Bond Global provides an alternative: engineer the damaged asset back into service whenever repair is technically and economically appropriate.

A New Approach to Industrial Repair

The Tech-Patch Repair System™ (TPRS™), the patented Polymer Bonding Process™ and Intelligent Interface Engineering™ (IIE™) enable Tech-Bond to address bonding and repair problems that conventional adhesives, mechanical fasteners and traditional repair systems often cannot solve.

These technologies can bond, seal, reinforce and repair metals, polymers, HDPE, rubber, PTFE-coated fabrics, ceramics, vinyl, leather, composites and dissimilar-material combinations. This broad material capability is particularly important in modern industrial systems, where failures frequently occur at the interface between different materials.

TPRS is not simply a patch. It is an engineered, multilayer repair system in which the substrate, reinforcing fabric, Polymer Bonding Process, Poly Fill™ and Poly Shield™ work together. Each layer performs a specific function, while the engineered interfaces transfer loads, restrict moisture pathways, resist separation and allow the completed repair to behave as an integrated system.

The Industrial Economic Advantage

The greatest financial benefit often comes from the costs that do not have to be incurred. A successful in-place repair may reduce or eliminate:

  • Removal and replacement of the existing asset
  • Excavation, demolition and site restoration
  • New replacement materials and transportation
  • Heavy equipment and specialized contractors
  • Extended labor and installation schedules
  • Production shutdowns and operational downtime
  • Emergency response and secondary damage
  • Environmental exposure and remediation
  • Traffic, customer and public disruption

In suitable applications, the cost of an engineered repair may represent only a fraction of the total cost of replacement. A repair costing thousands of dollars may prevent a replacement project costing tens or hundreds of thousands. For major industrial and infrastructure assets, the avoided costs can be substantially greater.

The economic question is increasingly not whether savings are possible—it is how much the organization can save while maintaining safety, reliability and performance.

Markets and Applications

Tech-Bond technologies can provide value across industrial manufacturing, oil and gas, marine and shipbuilding, mining, transportation, rail, construction, water and wastewater, utilities, energy, agriculture and other infrastructure-dependent operations.

Potential applications include:

  • Plastic, HDPE, metal and composite pipes
  • Storage, process and transportation tanks
  • Flanges, connectors, elbows, tees and joints
  • Pumps, housings, guards and equipment components
  • Marine structures and shipboard systems
  • Mining and material-handling equipment
  • Vehicle, fleet and transportation components
  • Corrosion protection and moisture mitigation
  • Difficult-to-bond polymer and elastomer components
  • Dissimilar-material interfaces
  • Localized structural reinforcement
  • Emergency and planned maintenance repairs

Every application must be evaluated according to its materials, operating pressure, temperature, chemical exposure, loading, access and service environment. Tech-Bond’s objective is not to force a repair into every situation. It is to identify the situations in which an engineered repair creates the strongest technical and economic result.

Validation and more Validation

Tested in the Laboratory and the Field

Tech-Bond technologies have been developed and tested for more than a decade. Validation has included laboratory testing, field installations and evaluations by universities, engineering organizations, industrial companies and government entities.

Results have included an ASTM B117 salt-spray exposure in which protected steel exhibited no rust, delamination, blistering or creep after 1,000 hours. In a separate HDPE pressure test, a repaired pipe withstood 1,800 psi for more than 100 hours and ultimately failed outside the repaired area. Additional thermal, aging, bonding, tribology and reinforcement testing continues to expand the evidence base.

These results demonstrate why Tech-Bond begins with evidence. Industrial organizations do not need unsupported promises. They need controlled demonstrations, documented procedures, measurable results and a defined pathway from pilot project to broader adoption.

The Time to Act Is Now

Waiting for a critical asset to fail rarely improves the economics. Emergency repairs cost more, replacement lead times are growing and shutdowns can quickly exceed the cost of the damaged component. Organizations should identify recurring failures and high-cost replacement problems before they become emergencies.

Tech-Bond can begin with a focused application review, followed by a controlled demonstration or pilot project. Performance, installation time, avoided replacement costs and operational savings can then be documented before broader adoption.

Stop Replacing Assets That Can Be Engineered Back Into Service

Let Tech-Bond evaluate your recurring failures, difficult substrates and high-cost maintenance problems. Together, we can identify opportunities to reduce downtime, extend asset life, preserve capital and maintain more infrastructure with the resources already available.  Expenses will be cut and saving is a mindset.
