Engineering Reports: Evidence Before Adoption
Engineering confidence begins with evidence, i.e., our engineering reports. This page brings together Tech‑Bond’s engineering reports in PDF format, providing a permanent technical record of the testing, observations and results supporting our technologies. Each report addresses a specific material combination, repair challenge, performance characteristic or operating condition.
The reports examine the Polymer Bonding Process, Molecular Integration, TPRS and Intelligent Interface Engineering (IIE™) across materials such as HDPE, steel, PTFE, elastomers, fabrics and composites. Subjects may include pressure resistance, temperature exposure, accelerated aging, salt-spray performance, chemical resistance, mechanical loading, wear, tribology and real-world field applications.
Providing the reports in PDF form allows engineers, maintenance professionals, asset owners, researchers and decision-makers to view, download, retain and share the complete documents. The reports are intended to provide more than performance claims: they document the test conditions, procedures, findings and engineering implications necessary for informed evaluation.
This library will continue to expand as Tech‑Bond and its research partners complete additional testing and field validation. Individual applications must still be evaluated according to their actual materials, loads and operating environments, but these reports establish the growing body of evidence behind Tech‑Bond’s technologies and engineered solutions.
Evidence should precede adoption. Engineering confidence should precede investment.

Report Title: Comprehensive Testing Report on the Tech-Bond Products
The Comprehensive Testing Report on Tech‑Bond Products consolidates laboratory studies, independent evaluations and field validation involving the Polymer Bonding Process™, Molecular Integration™ and the Tech‑Patch Repair System (TPRS™). Every completed study produced exceptional results, demonstrating strong bonding performance, resistance to demanding environmental conditions and the durability of the integrated repair.
The completed studies include:
- HDPE Pipe Pressure Testing: A repaired 4-inch SDR11 HDPE pipe withstood 1,800 psi for more than 100 hours. Ultimate failure occurred outside the repaired area.
- 1,000-Hour Salt-Spray Study: A Tech Wrap applied to steel completed 1,000 hours of salt-spray exposure without delamination, rust, blistering or interfacial creep.
- Elevated-Temperature HDPE-to-PTFE Testing: The bonded materials were tested at temperatures up to 110°C. The HDPE deformed under the test conditions, but the bond remained intact.
- Accelerated-Aging Study on Steel: Bonded steel specimens showed no evidence of delamination or interfacial creep following accelerated environmental aging.
- Tribology and Wear Testing: Testing demonstrated that the E-glass reinforcement fibers failed before the bonded interface, confirming the exceptional integrity of the bond.
- Aramid/Kevlar Comparative Pull Testing: Tech‑Bond specimens achieved approximately 1,848–1,950 N, compared with approximately 1,200–1,300 N for epoxy specimens. The Tech‑Bond specimens also demonstrated substantially greater elongation and continued carrying loads after the epoxy caused fiber failure.
Together, these studies provide compelling evidence that Tech‑Bond’s technologies do more than produce surface adhesion. They create durable, integrated bonds capable of surviving pressure, temperature, corrosion, aging, wear and substantial mechanical loads. Report Title: Borouge Report ICTR 10873 — ISO 1167 and ISO 13478 Test-to-Failure Evaluation
Borouge HDPE Pipe Test to Failure
Borouge, an Abu Dhabi–based global petrochemical company and one of the world’s leading providers of advanced polyethylene and polypropylene solutions, conducted a test-to-failure evaluation of Tech‑Bond’s repair technology. The test specimen was a notched, 4-inch-diameter SDR11 HDPE pipe repaired using the Tech‑Patch Repair System (TPRS™).
The pipe was rated at approximately 350 psi. Testing began at a relatively low pressure and proceeded through progressively higher pressure levels to determine where and how failure would occur. The repaired pipe ultimately reached 1,800 psi—more than five times its approximate rated pressure—before failure occurred.
Significantly, the Tech‑Bond repair did not separate, leak or fail. Instead, the HDPE pipe itself burst outside the repaired area. The test demonstrated that the integrated repair was stronger than the surrounding pipe: the repair did not fail—the pipe did.

Report Title: MEI Project J0687 — ASTM B117 Salt-Spray Test
MEI Project J0687 evaluated the resistance of Tech‑Bond’s technology to prolonged exposure in a highly corrosive environment. Steel test specimens protected with the Tech‑Bond repair system were subjected to 1,000 hours of continuous salt-spray exposure in accordance with ASTM B117. This accelerated laboratory test creates a controlled salt-fog environment used to evaluate corrosion resistance, coating integrity and the ability of a bonded system to protect the underlying metal.
At the completion of the study, the Tech‑Bond specimens exhibited no delamination, rust, blistering or interfacial creep. The bonded system remained intact throughout the test, preventing the corrosive environment from penetrating the interface and reaching the protected steel. These exceptional results demonstrate the potential of Tech‑Bond’s technologies to provide durable protection in marine, mining, water and wastewater, industrial and other corrosion-intensive environments.
